Use it or Lose it :)

I am loving the Something From Almost Nothing Class. Its getting me interested and excited to use my old stuff in new ways.

This LO uses a bunch of old rubons, flowers, and brads...major stash buster : This LO features a recent and favorite picture of my friend Laurie and I. This LO represents more HER style...bright, clean, pretty. The second LO I did uses the same photo again but features my style....GRUNGE (Laurie would say DIRTY) ARTY :) LOL



In this LO I made a mask out of old stickers (see the words dress up, funky etc...) and sprayed Glimmer Mist. I also used old white rubons as a resist with Glimmer Mist.



This LO came from a prompt in the class to use stickers, here I again used a bunch of stickers as a mask with Glimmer Mist :)

I have been housebound with the sickies and sick kids for what seems like weeks...thought I would pop in and share a few things that are making me happy in an attempt to cheer myself up :) LOL

Painting with Glimmer Mist

I did this LO on the weekend and tried something kind of neat. The label shaped paper on this LO was made by glimmer misting a cream colored CS with lemon grass and jack o lantern glimmer mist. I wanted the paper to mimic the red flocked flowers that I cut out of some Lush paper and the flowers in the background Prima Paper. So I dipped my brush in some brick red glimmer mist and painted some flowers on to the CS. I then used some gesso in a dry brush technique over the flowers. Adding the cut out flowers on top really completed it :) Kind of cool :)

Something from almost nothing: cardstock

This is a LO I made for the Something from Almost Nothing class that I am taking with SHIMELLE :) The prompt was cardstock...so I made this LO with mostly CS. I glimmer misted the strips of cardstock that had been punched with borders and then shaped them into ruffles :)

Pink Lush Mini

A little while ago I made a blue mini Lush album for Kasey, and I wanted to make one in pink for Kayleigh, both featuring the amazing photos that Laurie of C'est La Vie Studio and Design took of the girls. On both of these albums I used A LOT OF GLIMMER MIST...I am so in love with that stuff :) A thank-you to Stephanie for the beautiful handmade flower on the cover.

As a side...both my girls have a basket in their rooms were we keep their mini albums, and belive it or not they love looking through them. That makes this scrapper happy :)

Kayleigh's first crop

I had been eagerly awaiting this day every since I saw it advertised in Jenn's newsletter at the scrapbox. Mom and kid crop! Yesterday Kayeligh (3 almost 4) and I packed our scrap stuff and headed off for our very first crop together...it was a very proud day for me. She did really well, I think she had the most fun packing her crop bag...I let her use my AMY BUTLER BAG Lucky girl :) She lasted about 2 and half hours and then started asking for Daddy and her little sister. I got one LO done and one started so not to shabby.

Shimelle's Something from Nothing

I am taking my first class online with Shimelle. The class is called Something from Almost Nothing. The idea being that you will USE YOUR STASH....can't go wrong with that! So far we are into lesson 3 and I am loving it. Each lesson is a topic like metals, paper, ribbon etc...and there are a variety of ideas on how to use them. My goal is to one LO on each topic.

Here are the LO's I have created so far:

Lesson One: Metals

The prompt was to make a frame from brads...so cool :)

The 3rd lesson was ribbon and one of the ideas was a ribbon frame :) I ADORE this pic that Laurie took of Ryan...the title is DYLAN HAS NOTHING ON YOU.

necklaces with my Sisters

I just spent a wonderful weekend with my Sisters Jamie and Krissy, and my dear friend Stephanie :) We spent the day at the Spa Saturday, had a fabo raclette dinner, drank many wobblies and played a game. In between all the activity we managed to get some crafting done Friday night and a little Saturday night. I love how these turned out and for the most part we re purposed things I had laying around the craft room.




The necklace above was made knotting material from my sister's curtains!! I also used a denim Prima flower and center. The other flower was made with rolled curtain fabric! TA DA :)

My sister Jamie made this with stuff she purchased at Michaels on Saturday, its beautiful.




I made this necklace with a pink beaded necklace that came from my MIL's costume jewelry. The flowers were made with Amy Butler fabric left over from a dress.




I made this one with beads bought from SASSY BEAD :)





This one is made with a TIM HOLTZ chain and some random findings from my stash :)




I made this one from felt beads that came from an earlier necklace I made and had broken. The flower is Prima :)



This stuff can be addicting, I have so many more ideas:) What I love best is that I am sing stuff up that I have in my stash...much nicer to wear it than have it sitting in a bowl somewhere. :)
