Happy Happy Friday :)

I got my November Bad Girls kit this week. It is full of Shabby Chic Goodness. I sat down that night right away to create a LO as is my tradition. I decided to scrap this picture of my sisters and I taken this past September at Jamie's engagement party. Miracle that we got the picture because we practically had to stun gun Krissy into doing it. Funny how she hates the camera so much when she is so pretty.

On the LO above...Something cool...I painted the Heidi Swap Clear accents corner with alcohol inks.

I also had some fun this week making some x-mas cards, inspired by the ever creative Wilna. I used a Marvy scallop punch to BITE the gingerbread men :)

I also got my Bad Girls Junque SWAP last night and oh my what a thrill it was to go through all that yummy goodness. I just had to make something right away and used some of my new pretties as well as the Nov BG kit to make this. It is an altered Trim Bolt...I think that's what you would call it...its the thick cardboard that trim was wrapped on. Notice the little bell at the bottom....super cute man :) hehehe

So today we have some super fun planned Hadley, Tanya and Ab are coming to play. We are making a gingerbread house and hopefully they will be staying for a Pizza too :) Kayleigh is very excited and I hear Hadley is looking forward to peeing on our potty!!

Happy things

Look at what some lucky recipient at our family Chinese gift exchange is going to get!! I saw these ceramic Starbucks ornaments and was like EEEEEEEEEEEE and a $20 gift card in a mitten...can't get better than that. You like Wilna :) LOL

Here's a quick snap shot of the girls playing yesterday. I can't get over how much they play rocks..I sit and blog and they play :) Lucky MOMMY!!!

and BIG NEWS...Kayleigh POO'd on the potty!!! She sat and grunted and pushed, and was very surprised and maybe a bit scared to see what was in the potty LOL!! Much improved from the "MOM I POO FLOOR!!!". She has the pee part down pat now we just need to get the number 2's regular. Today she has been jumping on the potty every 5 min and then saying "just FARTS" MY DAUGHTER EH?

Scrappy Sunday

I spent this past Sunday at home scrapping in the comfort of my home, with my kids playing around me and my hubby playing the Guitar. I managed to get some LO's done that I have been wanting to get done for awhile. Now I can play with my BG kit when it arrives this week (fingers crossed).

Thanks for looking :)

Santa Claus Parade

Today the family and I went to Ryan's office downtown to watch the Santa Claus Parade, from the toasty warm indoors. We decorated gingerbread cookies, ate candy, decorated ornaments, and even MET SANTA!!! It was pretty awesome mostly because Kayleigh was so animated about the whole affair. Although the afternoon at home was a nightmare due to no nap and sugar overload. Thank-goodness its Ryan's turn to put the kids to bed :)

Here are some pics we took :)

oh and looky here....I think Stephane (Our very own Stephanie's Stephane is now an official 501 Legion Member!!!) is the one in the Santa I right Stephanie?

Christmas Ornaments and Tree

I am in love with the colors of blue, pink, red and green for Christmas (think October Afternoon, MME, and K&Co Christmas PP) and wanted to make some special decorations in this color scheme. Kayleigh even helped me in gluing, and glittering and hanging the ornaments. And in the spirit of Christmas giving I want to share how to recreate this tree with you :)

Let's start with how to make the ornaments.

1. Assemble your materials
  • I used scrap Christmas Patterned Paper in the color scheme of choice, as well as some sheet music
  • circle punch
  • paper trimmer
  • pencil
  • glue dots
  • tombow mono glue
  • white glue
  • glitter
  • die cut accents
  • bakers twine (or you could use ribbon)
  • crop-a-dile
  • distress ink
  • stickles
  • pinking shear decorative edge scissors
  • foam squares or pop dots

2. Cut 1.5 inch strips from your pp. (most of mine were 12inch long some longer when using the sheet music) Ink the edges.

3. pleat the strips of paper folding them back and forth

4. You can either make the ornaments out of one strip of paper (glue dot the ends together to create a circle)

or for a fuller more pleated ornament you can use 2 strips of paper (glue dot the two strips together end to end and then the full strip of two glue dotted to form a large circle)

5. At this point I make my middles, by punching a circle out of patterned paper, inking the edges. I then used the inner circle of my glue dots to trace a larger circle on PP and cut it out with decorative edge scissors. I inked the edges of this circle as well. The smaller circle is adhered on top of the larger one with foam squares. I then add a die cut element for decoration. At this point you can also embellish with some stickles.

6. Now to assemble the ornament you place tombow mono glue on the back of the center decoration, and lay aside. Flatten your pleated circle strip of paper and shape it, place the glued center on top and cover with something heavy (like your punch) to dry.

7. Once dry you turn the edges of the ornament over in glue and then over in glitter. Let dry.

8. Punch hole in top with crop-a-dile, and thread hole with bakers twine.

9. Hang ornament :)

Now for the tree!!!

I bought 2 blue and 1 red bunch of colored glittered twigs from Loblaws. I placed them in a tall container (a cupcake canister) I used the plastic wrap from the twigs to crumple in the bottom of the canister to help hold the twigs in place. I also placed some heavy objects like candles in the bottom to weight the canister down. We bought mini ornaments at DOLLARAMA and strung them up with bakers twine.

Volia!!!!!!!!! A happy Kataroo :)
