Stephanie's Prima Dona Class

I was unable to make the very talented Stephanie's PRIMA DONA class at the Scrapbox, but was still able to purchase her kit. Here's my take on her LO, her LO follows mine. I was too lazy when I sat down to play to look up her pic to follow and decided to just do my own thing...never have been good at following instructions...LOL Steph I loved working with the stuff you picked out and tearing open the prima pp to create a frame, very cool idea.

New use for glue dots :)

Isn't she beautiful :)

Kayleigh Kayleigh Kayleigh....your so crazy right now...full of cuteness and minute crying and throwing a fit and the next all super cute and sweet. Your talking like crazy, with less and less baby talk about all the things that our YOURS (my house, my car, my sousou), you use 2 and 3 words together all the time now, when you get excited about something you love to talk about if we are going to the talk about all the things you need to go there...and you point with your little finger while you talk and it is so damn cute. I love you fart face.

This is an album I made for a lady at the early years center that the girls and I go to playgroup at. Her dear doggie Toots passed away recently and when I saw how sad she was I really wanted to make her an album...a special place to keep memories of him. I made the album itself out of chipboard that I cut into the shape of a dog house. I hope she likes it.

Then this morning the baby who has managed to stay healthy thru all the the barf...spit up her WHOLE is that spit up or barf....i pray she is not sick....not only b/c i don't want a sick 10 week old but I don't want to take care of a sick baby with Kayleigh the CRANKER in tow :(. Did I mention Ryan is taking most of the day off to golf tomorrow...when do I get a day off :( COL (crying out loud) LOL :) Oh well :)

here's some stuff....a quickie shadow box I made with Kayleigh and a dress for Kasey I got off etsy.

More barf and lentils

Let me back track for effect...I had the flash flu last week, and this week have been taking care of a barfy flu-y almost 2 yr old....see sick pic in prev post. I have had K puke on her sis's head, and had the dog eat said puke....DouDou has been puked on a million gazillion times!!

Well last night Ryan came home with guess what? The flu....more barf and runs....and then THE DOG THE DAMN DOG got sick, and has had the runs and barfs since last hello?????

On a positive note I made my lentils last night, prepared a ton of lentils and barely and put them in family serv size freezer bags. Then for dinner I fried an onion, shredded carrot, some raisins in olive oil...garlic too....cumin, curry powder, added barley and lentils and hoison with sliced almonds....MMMMMMMMMM...just had some left overs for lunch :)

Ooh also got my Bad Girls kit yesterday and finsihed the sketch LO and am working on the Apron challenge. Ver fun stuff, crazy colors!!!

Oh yeah and DAMN YOU BARNEY...bloody barney was doing crafts on tv today so at 7am K wanted to craft!! So out came the glue stick with my coffee :) LOL

Mom Inspired

I have to tell you I spent a lot of time yesterday surfing some MOM blogs (with Kayleigh on day 3 of the flu and us confined to the couch for the day). I was so inspired by these mom's, the way they cook for their families (healthy home cooked food), the way they played with their children, the way they created (whether it be sewing clothing or scrapping). In particular I was all over Emily's blog and the Angry Chicken blog. These women have me wanting to cook beans, and lentils, involve Kayleigh in cooking, learning to sew and composting!!!!

So today I started my new adventure in MOMhood and baked some HEALTHY cookies with Kayleigh. She helped with each step and then we even washed the dishes together. I figure the more I involve her in helping to cook food the more likely she will be to eat the food. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

So here is the receipe for these amazing Carrot Cookies...I have been making them for awhile now and really really love them. Yes I have eaten 3 already :(

Carrot Cookies (from BETTER BABY FOOD, Daina Kalnins)
1/2c butter
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup shredded carrots
blend all this crap togther...(ok this is the katie version)

1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1c whole wheat flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1.2 tsp salt
sift together and slowly blend into wet ingredients

400 F, 15 min ( i do big cookies 20 min)

Look at us :)

I found this old pic of Rye and I at the farm, look how young we once were :) lol

Also two LO's I did last night. The colorful one is inspired by the crazy color's coming up in this months BG kit, and the other is a page for kasey's baby album (8x12). I am starting to really struggle with the 8x12's I am stuck b/w being simple and linear, clean lines and being shabby...trying to mix the two.....

Show and Tell :)

Two things to show and tell today :) LOL

A mixed media canvas for Kayleigh's new pink and black room, of non other than her fav wiener dog :)

And a db pg LO. I was reading a scrap mag on how the trend has really gone away from the db pg lo and I thought yeah...I used to do them all the time...I thought it would be fun to work on a large LO again :)

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all :)

I want to wish my Daddy a very special Happy Father's day. It is on this day especially that I am reminded how important my Father is to me and how very lucky I am to have him.

You see I have a very special Daddy! He has this very special way of brightening up my soul....I don't know how he does it...but when I need it most (and sometimes I don't even know I need it because I have veered so far off my path) he says just the right words to warm my soul. When I was little it was I love you's and ahh's, in University it was letters and phone calls that made me not give up and believe in myself, as an adult there are words that make me feel like the very best mother and daughter I can be. It was only a few months ago that my Daddy called me up out of the blue just to tell me how much he loved the LO I did on Rachel as a soldier and mother and how talented he thought I was and how I should prusue my creative passions. I hung up the phone feeling so loved and inspired to create.

I am one very lucky girl, and I love you DADDY.

Have a wonderful Father's Day :)

BG inpsiration

A LO inspired by the work at Bad Girls.....I glimmer misted the crap out of the grundge board so that there were large pools and then randomly dropped alchol inks....then heat gunned it up close.

So I was browsing thru the latest CDN SCRAPBOOKER at starbucks when I spotted my LO!!! Yippeeee.....I had forgotten about it being in there.

On another note, I was in wallmart with the girls and I let a fart was quiet so all was good, except Kayleigh heard it and yelled FART MOMMY FART...she hadn't said this before so I started to laugh which made her yell it more...which made the ppl around me laugh :) ONLY ME :)

8 weeks old

Just some quick pics of Kasey at 8 weeks, she looks so much like her sister at this age.

The one with her smiling is her taking a big poop :)
