The perils of HOT PEPPERS

I was cutting some hot peppers for a chicken chili, being very careful not to touch my eyes (learned that lesson), when the need to pee struck (only 40 min from last pee break, oh joy). Well I guess I must have touched my you know what....b/c my YOU KNOW WHAT is on FIRE!!!!!!! OUCH!!!!!!!

A LO I started at the crop and finished at home Sunday night. I crumpled white tissue paper on the LO and used a matt gel medium to adhere it to the page. I then painted over top with some pink paint. This LO doesn't show up well on the blog. Tissue paper really adds some interesting texture.

LO's from Saturday's crop

I seem to have a thing for going right off the page lately, so it was hard to scan these some of the LO is missing in some of them. I used the Feb Jenni Bowlin kit and the Feb Bad girls kit.

Thanks for looking :)

Weekend Report

Had an amazing weekend!! Our sleep over at Tanya's rocked and I was surprised with a belated birthday cake, and a present wrapped in boob paper :) Yes I do like boobs :) Our photo shoot was amazing, I actually had fun and totally enjoyed it, and laughed and laughed and of course peed my pants a few times (got to love being pregnant). I got to drive to the crop, and despite having trouble backing up and being slow I think I did ok :) Thanks Rachel for the help. The crop was a blast, and who knew that sitting in a chair for 8 hours could be so exhausting I have been a total bum today. Stephanie won best LO!!! Which was awesome because last time they picked a hideous LO, nice to see that they have gained some style :) LOL Tanya completed some LO's she had started earlier and they were amazing, Mell FINISHED!! a unique and creative clear album of her wedding in garden party colors. I can't wait for her to post it on her blog. Rachel did 3.5 (need to be exact here ) LO's one of which is my all time fav (which she hates) Stephanie used her first Jenni Bowlin Kit, she has been collecting them for months and months and finally cracked one open. Let's just say she is the queen of glitter.

Thank-you Mell, Rachel, Stephanie and Tanya for being the amazing friends you are and for putting up with me and all my glory.

Here are my fav pics from the weekend.

So super excited to be hanging with my YaYa's tonight, having a sleep over at Tanya's and a photoshoot with all sorts of cool ideas. I personally don't love the whole process of the photo shoot, I think I am to impatient LOL. But I do love the results and the fun photos to scrap!! So I will be thankful that my friends are talented in this photography department and drag my sorry ass along. Then tomorrow we are going to a crop do one of my fav things SCRAPPING!! With my fav people!!! And guess what no Kid in tow, well except for the giant one in my tummy :) Here's to a great weekend.

Officially too damn fat :)

I am 31 weeks pregnant and now officially too damn fat too:

  • do the buttons up on my winter coat
  • bend over to do anything without feeling like passing out
  • get out of the tub without a crane
  • reach my toes to apply nail polish
  • not graze doors and corners with my belly
  • to sleep comfortable at night
  • to go more than hour without having to pee

I am also starting to waddle, something Ryan thinks is bloody hilarious :) nice nice.

Oh and yesterday when I was taking a bath Ryan said I looked like a TUBMARINE...I was like WHAT!!! and he said no no no I mean you like Kayleigh's toy the tubmarine all submerged in the water, yeah right I think he was making a fat joke :)

Happy Valentines Day

A Valentine LO. I got the idea to use the broken buttons behind a cutout from this months Scrapbooks ETC. The top card stock is sitting on the buttons and also chipboard floats to raise the LO up. I broke the buttons (or rather Ryan did) with kitchen utility scissors. The lg heart in the top right hand corner is a post it note. The pics were taken today :) How's that for fast turn around LOL.

Kayliegh and I baked cupcakes for Daddy today, she helped with the mixing and pouring. We also cleaned out his sock drawer which he has been bitch'n about for years and made him a special dinner. He came home with flowers for Mommy, and a balloon and teddy for Kayleigh. Kayleigh insisted that the bear eat dinner with us, and she fed him her beef and gave him water to drink. She even gave him a shower of water at the table LOL. Oh well, it was fun :)

and PS. Ryan is treating me to a mani and pedi tommorrow :) He's going to be getting lucky :) wink wink

Scrap Challenge

I wanted to scrap last night, but was feeling bored and uninspired. So I thought a little challenge was what I needed. So I challenged myself to use only scrap PP and some found papers instead of new PP. The found paper I used was the corrugated dividers from a pack of cookies (lol). My inspiration came from the snow house in the pics and I tried to recreate that scene.

V-Day Mini Album

A V-day mini album, Daisy D kit, and Maya Road chipboard album, random chipboard and other junk. I printed the cover photo on fabric paper and painted it a light pink. Also used crackle paint on many of the chipboard accents.

Pink and Black

So I am starting work on Kayleigh's new room in preparation for kicking her out of the nursery LOL. I bought a pink and black quilt and am basing the room on that. I think the colors will take her through her teens and the black makes the pink a little more rad in case she is not a girly girl (I so hope she is a girly girly girl)

So I made this last night for her door, an altered clip board thing-y that I hang and display stuff on.

Robyn and Stephanie you make me laugh

Just had to point out how funny it was that both Robyn and Stephanie commented on the colors of my photos for scrapping my winterlude photos, only a scrapper man :)

I have been submitting like crazy to them, pretty much every LO once I scan it get's emailed to them. Talk about overload, they probably took it to shut me up :) LOL.

Jennifer Pebbles

I saw this LO on Jennifer Pebbles site and was like WOW, I love that. So inspired by her design I did this LO tonight. Honestly it looks better in person, LOL. I used up some old Urban Lily here, yippeee. Also, the whole scallop design is on chipboard so it has some dimension.

Dr, Seuss

I became captured by the colors and designs in this Dr. Seuss book that I have been reading to Kayleigh and thought it would be fun to translate it into a LO. So here we go, what do you think?

From Yuck to Oh Yeah :)

I started this LO last night see first pic, and I had to stop, I mean it was so matchy, linear, boring, yuck. So tonight I thought "Katie what would Ashley Calder do? She would get messy!! So I broke out the gesso, paint, ink, old sticker strips, and odds and ends, a mask etc. Now I love it!!!
