Happy Birthday to Me :)

I am 31 years old today, I am now in my thirties (you see 30 wasn't plural lol) I started my morning off with a prayer of thanks, to God and Jesus.



Dear God and Jesus,

Thank-you for today, thank-you for bringing me into this world. Thank-you for my mom and dad, my family, my amazing husband, my baby girl Kayleigh, my growing baby in my tummy, for my friends, for joy and laughter, for love, for scrapbooking, art and farts!! I love my life Jesus. Amen.

17 Months

Its been awhile since I have reported on Kayleigh. I was going through old posts and so enjoyed reading about her old routines and milestones. I need to stay on top of this. So here we go with an update at 17 months, well 17 and a 1/2 :)

-she can climb onto the couch all on her own
-uses a fork and spoon well
-brushes her own teeth, is obssessed with doing so and would brush them 20 times a day if allowed
-loves baths, begs for them
-loves the water fountains at walter baker pool, as no fear running through the water and under the falls. Does not like going in the big pool where she needs to be held much to independant for that
-is always trying to put on clothes, can get a sock on and off, a leg in pants and a shirt over head
-loves to play with the dog and cat but needs to learn to be gentle , ie no pulling ears
-says mama, dada, up, bubbub (bubbles), sort of says puppy, pepe, baby, woof, cat, oh oh, hi, num num
-loves bannanas and clementines like crazy
-very impatient while waiting for her milk
-loves wee wonders and play group
-starting to become more verbal
-more interested in tv (yippee lol)
-says hi to everyone and is always waving
-love her mommy lots and lots
-

Scrap Night

Friday night before the heading home for the holidays, and my mailbox was empty again today, no scrap treats :( Although I did manage to make a trip to AFM to pick up some GrungeBoard (so cool man, but it smells like new shoes LOL)

So tonight I have deemed it scrap night and I have made challenges for myself, to help me use up supplies to make room for my new goodies :)

Challenge 1: NO PP, use fabric tape, use grundge board (had too ) use found papers.
LO: Kayliegh 12x12 I used water colours and pastels on the grundge board, the found paper was a torn old paper doiley with water colour applied over top and then crumpled. Also used a scrap piece of fabric.

Challenge 2: Use chatterbox stencil letters (have had these forever), buttons and paper from my scrap bag.
LO: Family 12x12

Challenge 3: Use glitter, stickles, black dimensional paint and BG Paper (have had an aversion to the beloved BG of late)
LO: will have to wait, the damn thing has to dry :(

Sitting in a tree

I did this LO last night, so inspired by these series of pics my sister Krissy had taken at KenReid park in Nov with Hannah, Payton and Kayleigh. Oh I only have like 30 more to scrap, YIPPEEEE

My Baby Turd is sick :(

Poor Kayleigh isn't feeling well, she is like a little limp doll. Just sitting on the couch all quiet and not at all like her usual crazy self. Truth is its kind of nice LOL. She is eating well and drinking and has no fever, so I am not sure what is wrong. But she will get lots of love today :)

Ughhh the Snow!!!

The snow is seriously delaying the arrival of my scrap supplies. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Bad Girls Kit and an order from myscrapshoppe.com and yesterday there was no mail delivery b/c the snow was completely blocking the mail boxes. I want to play with my new treats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy fun LO

I saw this LO of Donna's and loved the it and thought it would be fun to play with for myself. I went a little wild with the picture LOL :) Enjoy :)

A few new LO's, the pumpkin patch one was an experiment. I colored the entire background with inks and some white pen, and gesso.

A Fine Mess

A LO worthy of A Fine Mess LOL... Had a ton of fun with this one, very freestyle.

Thank-you God

This past Friday night my sister Krissy went to bed and had this feeling that something was going to happen to her family, so she prayed to God and asked him to keep her family safe over the holidays. Her hubby is an OPP and that night she got a call at 3:30am, while an officer waited outside her door. Mike was ok, but had been in a bad accident. They took her to the hospital right away to see him and on the way learned the details. It was a miracle that he was alive. He had just finished saving someone's life, talking them off a bridge when he got a call from a farmer saying his horses got out and were on the highway. As he was going up a hill on the way to the call he hit the horses as they ran out toward his car. He hit both of them, killed them both, and his car was thrown over the barrier and hung over a cliff. There was little left to his car. They were pulling horse hair from his wounds and mouth. He broke his neck, but only a fracture on C3, he is not paralyzed and I think will only need a neck and shoulder brace. He needs oral surgery as his teeth have all been moved, his nose is broken, and he has deep lacerations all over his face. He is ok, he will be ok. Thank you GOD, for watching over him, please help him recover well. Amen.

vintage looking x-mas ornaments

Bored one night and thought it would be fun to make some ornaments. I used copied images of vintage x-mas pics, and crackle gel, as well alcohol inks.

A small 8x8 canvas for a x-mas gift exchange. In the last pic I added buttons to the ribbon, couldn't resist a bit of extra cute :)

I am snow pooped :)

I am pooped!! Kayleigh and I are out most days walking places, for 30-60 minutes, but the last week or so and the last two days in particular have been really hard. This morning a 10 min walk to Playgroup turned into 30 min of pushing, lifting and pulling her stroller through the snow. I think we struggled through the snow for a total of hour and 1o min today. So I feel no guilt as I now stuff my face with the sugar cookies Kayleigh and I made yesterday. For a fatty fatterson and 5 months preggers, I must say I can haul my butt with the best of them LOL.

Knocked up

Oh I feel preggers today. I had some serious cramping, very painful, I thought I had a kidney, bladder infection or rupturing appendix it was so bad. I was in agony and starting to get worried that something was wrong. Know what it was???? GAS!!!!!! Go figure, hahahahaha feeling better now :)

Ashley Calder

I am so inspired by Ashley Calder right now, I did this LO Friday after looking thru her gallery and being filled with inspiration.

I used white tissue paper ripped into this strips to create an ice like effect. I also tore thick heavy water colour paper in circles for snowballs.
