Weaning and other things Kayleigh

Well I have begun to wean Kayleigh in preparation for daycare in 6 weeks. I don't want to pump, I just can't stand it. So I now have her down to just nursing twice a day in the morning. I thought I would feel sad and reluctant to do this, but it actually feels a little freeing. The bottles are not hard to do and she seems to take them just fine. Next week we will be down to one nurse a day, and I will keep nursing her in the morning when I am back at work. Next week we also start work on changing her naps in preparation for daycare. Right now we sleep together at nap time. I've always been a big napper, and I tell you one of my very favorite things about being home with Kayleigh is curling up with her and sleeping. One of the best feelings in the world. I am really going to miss this daily routine of ours. I hope she transitions well to the crib. So May is a month of change for her and then June 11 is the big change me back at work and her in daycare. We are still looking for a daycare provider, and have some leads...I hope we find something right for us soon. I have mixed feelings about going back to work, I want to stay home with her, but part of me also is looking forward to a little independence of my own.

She sure is growing up fast and becoming more of a little girl and less of a baby. Like the other day while we sharing our cookies, she came over and dipped her cookie in my glass of milk like I always do. She laughs a lot now, and enjoys playing games, and dancing to music. She also will pick up a book at bedtime and read it with this quiet little baby babble that just makes me warm and fuzzy.

You know what??? I miss her every night, and think about going in her room and wanting to take her into my own bed to cuddle.

Instructions of Care

This is a chipboard kit from Fancy Pants, it comes with a box, an accordion album and chipboard accents. I purchased it at A Fine Mess. The theme is instructions of care, and idea I stole from CK. The album includes instructions on how to care for Kayleigh.

Saturday night I got comfy and scrapped and came up with this LO. I like how I used the chipboard circle (Jenni Bowlin). I used the Amy Butler papers from K&Co, which I grabbed at A Fine Mess.

Mixed Media Class at A Fine Mess

Friday night I had a blast taking a mixed media class, at A Fine Mess, with my friends (Stephanie, Mellissa, Tanya and Deb ). I am amazed at all the talent in the projects we each did. I think I am hooked on this, and am looking forward to doing another project monday. This is my canvas, I copied Genna's houses :) Only my street is a happy street and hers is a Tim Burton Street LOL.

Groovy Genna :)

I was at A Fine Mess today with Kayleigh, and she started crying :( Then Genna came to the rescue with a Groovy Doll for her to chew on and play with. Gone are the tears. The doll totally looks like Genna, well if she had purple highlights and really big feet!! Thanks for the present.

Home Sweet Home

Yes my home our home is my home. But being here at my parents house is still home to me. Even though we have moved many times from our childhood home, my parents house is always home to me. They say home is where you heart lies and my heart is definitely at home here. I have our family golden retriever's big blond head on my lap while she purrs like a kitten. I got to sleep in this morning, thank-you Kayleigh!! And now my mom is watching her while I drink my coffee and surf. My mom says it is an Oklahoma morning, well I don't know what that means but I think its a good thing :)

Say Hello to Elsie

I made this cute little guy after seeing one on Elsie Flannigan's blog, and of course I named her Elsie. I have to say this was really fun to do, easy, and a great break from scrapping.

Ooh and when I was making it my hubby, ryan, saw it and said it was cute. His comment made me really happy and then the next day he asked me how Kayleigh liked her new toy. I told him it was for me and he laughed.

More Felt Beads

I stopped by A Fine Mess yesterday and couldn't help getting more of these awesome felt beads. So here is my latest necklace :) I think I might give it to my sister but then again maybe I will just keep it.

Go Figure

Go Figure it would take a pic of my cleave to get that many comments!!! LOL

Hehehehehe I was taking pics of the baby turd and for some reason thought hey lets take a pic of my boobs, and this is what came out, and I thought it looked so much like a bum!! My fav guess was a pic of my knees as seen my the crapper, good guess, as that is so something I would do.

So the winner of the rak is Mary Campbell, please email me your mailing addy at :)

Thanks for playing :) :)

Guess the pic for rack :)

OK here's some fun first to correctly guess what this is a pic of wins a RAK.

Rock'n the Scrap Stuff

First one is a scraplift, I just loved the design.
The db pg lo uses MME embossed chipboard, which I painted, sanded, and scribbled on with a silver glitter pen.

on decorating

"I come from Columbia, where we have to be very resourceful. We don't have Bed Bath and Beyond, we have garbage and we have the street. " -Calero

a quote from one of my decorating mag's that I have leafed through many times and every time I read this I just think that's cool.

Scrapping is like Puking

I saw this on the sound of science blog and think it rings true :) LOL

"Scrapping is almost like puking. I know, it sounds absurd, but hear me out. Once you feel that urge, your muscles take over and just start contracting, whether you want them to or not. It seems there is nothing that can stop it untill it is out. And that is exactally how I feel about creating. Like it just spews out of me at random. Busting out page after a madwoman. And then it's gone, as quickly as it came. Nothing else left inside. But the warm fuzzy glow of letting it all out. It really is therapy."

Happy 32nd B-day Ryan

We celebrated Ryan's birthday tonight although he doesn't turn 32 till tomorrow. Kayleigh bought DaDa a present (some comfy new pj pants) and I got him a Pink Floyd T-shirt (well a pic of one, as it hasn't arrived in the mail yet ) and Sunday we are going to go and buy him a GLOBE in Westboro (there is a map and globe shop there). We had beer and wings for dinner and a strawberry shortcake with sparklers for dessert. Poor Kayleigh was overtired and had a low fever and was not a happy camper as you can see from this pic. She also seems to have a strange fear of hats on people so this hat really freaked her out. Poor Kid :(

another LO

I painted wings onto the photo and when it dried small cracks appeared, cool effect that I wasn't expecting :)

A Fine Mess has felt beads!!!! I made this necklace there this week, and I love it!!!!

scrap stuff

So I didn't make it past the MM Idol top 15, but hey top 15 isn't too shabby :) LOL I got an email sometime ago from Scrap in Style TV inviting me to submit an app for their design team, I guess they saw my work and thought it was cool. I did submit, but a las did not make the cut, check out this link to see who did (Claudine Hellmuth, and Wilna Furstenburg to name a few). You gals should really check them out it looks like they will be doing some very cool stuff.

So I am now thinking what's next, I am like on the CUSP of making it so to speak, so I can't quit now!! So I am going to enter the CK Scrapbooker of the year contest !! (Stephanie you better enter too!!) Wish me luck :)

A Tale of Two Dinners

I've been playing catch up with some photos, so these are some quick playful LO's not sure I would give them all A's but they'll do :)

Decorate with Patterned Paper

Decorate with Patterned Paper, why not :) I took these photos at A Fine Mess , I love the look of the Basic Grey Paper rolled up and displayed on the shelves and in the frame.

Baby Bites

Kayleigh is doing so well with learning to eat. This past week she has started to eat many foods on her own in little bits. She enjoys banana, grapes, chicken, pasta, and toast. I usually do not eat much fruit but have been eating much more this past week because Kayliegh and I will share a snack together. I love watching her eat, she is just so cute!!
